Atom-editor: terminal-plus zeigt nichts an - keine Shell - nichts - alles schwarz

hallo und guten Morgen liebe Community,


ich habe einen Atom-editor installiert.

Währende dies auf dem Bürorechner - (Win xp) sehr gut ging und ohne Probleme alles ( auch diverse Packages u. Ergänzungen laufen) ist das Ganze auf dem Linux Manjaro Notebook
auf einem asus a 54 mit i3 cpu

terminal-plus zeigt nichts an - keine Shell bzw. promt - nichts - alles bleibt schwarz!

ich hab Terminal-plus

weitere community-packages sind die folgenden:

atom runner
git control
git plus
platform-ide-terminal
script
script runner

kann das an der Performance des Rechners liegen!?

hallo und guten Abend Nik

ist ziemlich merkwürdig. ich hab alle community-addons "ausgeschaltet" - aber dennoch kein "durchschlagenden" Erfolg; es bleibt wie es ist.
GGF hab ich die Installation irgendwie ǘberladen u. dann in den sand gesetzt.

Was hälst du denn von der Idee, das Ganze einfach mal neu aufzusetzen.


Und dann im Grunde nur ein einziges Paket dazu zu nehmen.

- z.b. platform-ide-terminal

damit ich eben ein terminal hab.


ich werde einmal mehrere Sachen ausprobieren und mich hier wieder melden,
U. a. werde ich Atom nochmals auch auf einem Win aufsetzen.,.

Grundsätzlich ist Atom sowieso grauenhaft ressourcenhungrig.

This is happening for months its freaking annoying!
Editor is not responding every time I close atom with files left opened and then I try to open it again, the editor is stuck I always have to clear the state to fix this!

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open some large project files 4-5 with over 10000 lines of code
2. Close the editor
3. Restart PC
4. Open atom from the desktop link
5. Atom is stuck

I expect atom to work

ich werde jedenfalls mal weitere Tests u. so weiter machen, damit ich mehr herausfinde u. hier dann auch schreiben kann.

Wie schon gesagt: Der Atom-Editor geht sehr unvorsichtig mit Ressourcen um. Hierzu siehe auch diese Benchmarks:

Wenn es dir um die Oberfläche geht, kannst du dir auch mal Visual Studio Code anschauen.

Subjektiv empfehle ich beim Original Sublime Text zu bleiben, das zwar Geld kostet, aber nicht auf Electron basiert. Visual Studio Code ist aber trotzdem nicht schlecht - allerdings kann man in den von mir verlinkten Benchmarks sehen, dass sein Geschwindigkeitsvorteil kaum erkennbar ist.

Objektiv rate ich davon ab, hier eine Texteditordiskussion zu starten. Spätestens bei "Vim gegen Emacs gegen Nano" brennt hier die Luft.

Werde solche Diskussionen nicht mehr fuehren hier...


Zu Atom - ich mag die Git - resp,. Github (bitbucket) - Integration an Atom.


Was ich jetzt noch gemacht habe: habe Atom jetzt nochmals auf einem Notebook (Lenovo g780 mit I5) auf Win XP aufgesetzt. Und dazu noch den Terminal-Plus

Das auffällige: auch hier blinkt der cursor nur - aber ich kann keine Befehle absetzen.

Ganz im Gegensatz zu dem Bürorechner (auch Win) auf dem alles gut läuft u. ich ein teminal habe - u. hier auch

clone u viele andere Befehle ausführen kann.

Bin im Moment etwas irritiert - mache ich etwas falsch.

kann - z.B. auch keine Befehle wie die folgenden absetzen:

git config --global user.email "xyz....bla bla ba "
git config --global user.name "bla bla bla "

G’day @danPadric - termination maintainer here. :slight_smile: . You’re right, termination is very close to platformio-ide-terminal. Most of the code is the same (we’re a fork, after all), although I’ve made a few changes and we have a few more themes and other goodies than they do.
The biggest difference is the appearance. I’d loved the look of the old terminal-plus package, of which platformio-ide-terminal is a fork. When terminal-plus was not longer maintained I tried moving to pio-terminal. I didn’t like the appearance, though, especially since it’s designed to fit in more with PlatformIO-IDE instead of the native Atom style. (No offense meant to the wonderful chaps at PlatformIO - we just happen to have different visions of what we want our terminal plugins to look like.) So I forked their code, made it look as close to terminal-plus as I could, and published Termination. And let’s just say it’s been an interesting ride since I’ve still not gotten a good grasp of coffeescript. :grin:
TL;DR: under the hood they’re almost the same… it’s the appearance that’s most different between the two.

Terminal does not load on Arch #8

Problem: Can't type in terminal. It loads but only a blinking cursor is shown.
Occurs: Only observed on Arch Linux.
