Offiziell: Diese Samsung Galaxy-Smartphones und

Gerüchte gab es schon lange, jetzt ist es offiziell. Mal sehen, wie lange es dann dauert.

Und hat sich schon wieder relativiert, KitKat gibt's vorerst nur für das amerikanische S3mini, das ist ein komplett anderes Handy weil Qualcomm based, nicht wie unseres STE.

Das ist nur eine Variante des S3 mini und nennt sich Samsung Galaxy Axiom

Das Axion hat mit dem S3mini kaum was gemein, wie du in dem Beitrag vielleicht gelesen hast. Wichtig ist zum Thema aber vor allem der SoC. Der kommt von Qualcomm und nicht von STE wie unserer. Somit sollte sich das Thema Updates für deutsche Minis erledigt haben.

Das S3 Mini läuft doch mit der aktuellen 4.1.2 er Verson sehr zuverlässig und stabil! Wieso sollte man überhaupt updaten?

Samsung. To verify our assumptions, I called
Samsung Poland and asked them…

ask you for some questions.
Support: Hello Marcin, how can I help you?
Marcin: I have a question about Galaxy
smartphones update, namely Samsung US
released a list of devices which will receive
Android 4.4 KitKat and I’m curious if in Europe the
list will be similar. I’m especially interested in
Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini aka. I8190
Support: I understand. At this moment I don’t have
such a list. I suggest you to stay tuned for any
new informations and keep looking on Facebook or
Twitter. Such informations are published there up
to date.
Marcin: I understand, you don’t have any
informations, even when such a list will be
released, if it will be released at all.
Support: I don’t know. (WTF?)
Marcin: I understand. I hope Samsung won’t
abandon the phone which was said to be the
smaller version of your flagship device, and it
won’t be stuck on 4.1.2 in Europe.
Support: I promise you that Samsung Electronics
is doing everything possible to provide you the
most recent version of Android.

The funny thing is they said that they will do
everything possible… I told myself: “we will see”,
and then suddenly Samsung Poland posted on
Twitter that Samsung Galaxy S III aka. i9300 WILL
NOT GET KITKAT UPDATE! Their flagship device
will receive update only in USA, and only for
Qualcomm chipset based models. No chocolate for
Exynos, sorry.
If they won’t provide an update for their flagship
device, that means we can forget about official
update, and S3 Mini i8190 will be stuck on 4.1
forever.
Don’t trust this company.

Wegen der angeblich viel Ressorcen schonenderen Eifgenschaften alleine schon.
