Wild West Rom
Features
ROM
WILD WEST Rom v1 - Release Candidate 1
The goal of this Rom is to have a Rom that is small, but do work as good it can do.
Some apps in the Rom is changed to something better I did find on the market.
Also due the fact it is slimmed down, it do not have all stock app in it.
Some of the app you can download bellow this post and some stock app you can download from the market.
This make the Rom better and more up to date.
It is odex like the stock Rom, so it do not slowdown or break, like deodexed Rom do.
This Rom will also be a very good base for other to make theme to.
Changed from stock Rom
* Boat Browser
* Nemus Launcher
* Host file(removes most adds in the apps)
* New boot sound
* New ringtunes
* Removed 120 stock apps
* Some tweaks
* Superuser and busybox(Rooted)
* Based on JW7
* IBeat sound improvment
* Galaxy SIII shotdown animation
* Build.prop tweaks
To install this Rom you must first have flashed JW4+ firmware. (Ich nutze JW6)
You also need to flash my kernel for it.
Then do the following.
1. Do a complete wipe of the phone with the option in the recovery.
This is very important if you do not have this Rom installed before.
(If you have a previous version installed you do not need to do this)
2. Mount the internal sdcard in windows and copy the Rom to it.
3. Unmount the sdcard.
4. DO restart the phone back to recovery. This is a must or it will not install the Rom later on.
5. Now install the WildWest_v*.zip from recovery.
6. Restart the phone and let it boot up. First time it can take little longer then it will do later on.
7. After this you can convert the file system if you like, but only do ONE thing at the time and make sure you do boot up the phone after every stuff you do in the recovery. If not the phone can be stuck in a boot loop.

**** ROOT ****
If you use the kernels on a fresh firmware you will only have semi Root. To make the Root full you need Root the phone in the recovery. Choose "Root Phone" in the recovery and all stuff will now work.
**** Information ****
It have the cleanup system that will make a total wipe of the phone.
Look here in the **** Total wipe guide ****
Default frequency is 1500MHz. (Not on 1000MHz version)
When the screen is on it will use 200MHz to 1500MHz.
When the screen is off it will use 100MHz to 800MHz.
It will also steep up faster in frequency.
Low memory killing is set at 92MB.
If your phone cant handle 1500MHz then you should NOT try this kernel.
This kernel is made most for games.
**** Memory Cache system ****
I did make new systems for how the phone is caching programs.
DEFAULT is the system i have used for a long time.
CACHE use less cache and more memory.
LOW use pure memory and minimum cache.
Those settings can be changed in the recovery.
**** Swapping sdcards ****
Now you can swap the internal sdcard with the external sdcard.
The external sdcard can be up to 32GB.
If you swap the sdcard you will now have 32GB internal sdcard instead of 6GB.
Remember to have the external sdcard in the phone when you boot the phone.
If you have apps etc on your internal sdcard then you need to move them to the external before you use this.
Those settings can be changed in the recovery.
Start the phone and see if they have changed.
If not do power of the phone and start it up again.
**** New cache (market etc) ****
This new cache system is made to remove the market error when you download a big file.
The old market used 2 different cache system for this.
But the new market are only using one. So it will run out of space on bigger files.
There is also some other bugs with that.
This cache system will solve them.
You do have as much space that you have free on /data.
So if you have 1GB free on /data you will have 1GB free space in the cache also.
The kernel will use this as default. So you dont need to make a script for this.
Changelog
**** Beta 1 kernel ****
Updated some drivers and remove some bugs.
Updated Superuser and SU files.
**** Beta 2 kernel ****
Add voodoo sound v10 support.
Changed how version is showed.
**** Beta 3 kernel ****
Changed some compiler setting back to what I did use in some older kernels.
In "about the phone" it will say it is *JW4* as kernel version, but that is only a text and only there for compatible issues.
I could easy make it so it do show JW8+.
The fact is that I do not use many stock drivers. I use the ones that I compile for the kernel.
Also many people think there is different kernels for all JW* series, but the fact is that there is only 2 type.
The kernels before JW4 and the one after JW4.
Installationshinweise
**** Total wipe guide ****[/B]
This wipe feature in the Tornado kernel (v2.3+) is a way to clean up the phone without
the need to flash different stock firmware. You still need the JVR/JVS bootloader installed.
**** WARNING ****
The wipe will clean up the phone and it will remove ALL files from your phone.
Only the external sdcard is left alone. But the internal sdcard will be cleaned.
So if you have ANY files on your phone that you want to save, then do it first.
Also make a backup of your apps with Titanium backup if you want to save them.
Remember to COPY the Titanium backup folder to your PC.
Now you can follow the guide for cleaning and installing Tornado.
1. Start the phone into the recovery with the 3 button combo.
2. Choose Tornado wipe system in the menu.
3. Choose YES.
The phone will now wipe the phone.
4. The phone will then restart.
But you dont have anything on it so it will be stuck on the boot screen.
Your phone is total clean now and your internal sdcard is also empty.
So we need to copy the rom from your computer to the phone.
A. Press the 3 button combo for the recovery.
B. In the menu choose mounts and storage.
C. Put your USB cabel in.
D. Choose mount USB storage
E. Now go where you have you rom on the computer and copy it to the phone.
F. Choose Unmount to change back and mount the internal sdcard back into the phone.
G. Pull out your usb cable, for you dont need it anymore.
Now its time for install the rom.
Do reboot the phone first.
Use the normal "install zip from sdcard"
When you have installed the rom you need to restart the phone.
First it will boot up to the boot logo, then it will restart again.
Then it will boot up like it should.
**** Information ****
This system dont just remove files like all other cleanup scripts.
It will recreate the file partitions so they will always be empty.
Thats why it can be a problem on the first start after you flashed the rom.
This should repair the sdcard on bell phones that is fixable with the format trick.
