Darf ich mal was fragen.
Mi9, bisher Xiaomi.eu.....wollte auf CRDroid gehen. TWRP ist alles aktuell. Ich hab crdroid geflasht, es startet auch. ABER Twrp fragt nach keinem Pin mehr und kommt nicht an die /data Partition. Ich hab div. Formatierungen schon probiert (Data ext2 -> ext4), aber mein Rechner mag nichts mehr auf das Mi9 schreiben. Starte ich CRDroid muss ich ein Muster eingeben usw, kann dann z.B. GAAPS laden....starte ich dann aber TWRP komtm keine PIN Abfrage und Data ist wieder nicht mountbar.
Ich stehe gerade etwas auf dem Schlauch wo ich falsch abgebogen bin.
/system etc zu formatieren traue ich mich nicht da ich nichts auf das System kopieren kann

Sorry, lese den Beitrag erst heute.

Dein Mi 9 ist sehr wahrscheinlich verschlüsselt. Leider kann keine der derzeitigen Custom-Recoveries die Verschlüsselungsalgorithmen von Android 12 entschlüsseln. Somit ist die Data-Partition nicht mehr lesbar.Du wirst nicht umhin kommen, die Data-Partition zu formatieren (Format data > Yes). Direkt danach, also ohne Reboot dazwischen, kannst du dann DFE (Disable Force Encryption) flashen. Dann ist das Handy aber nicht mehr verschlüsselt.

Danke. Das probier ich. Verschlüsselung ist uninteressant da wir das Handy nur als Schmutzhandy ohne SIM Karte für Roblox oder den Meater (Fleischthermometer) usw nutzen ^^

Kann mal jemand (Du?) was zu diesem PE Recovery sagen? Das Autoupdate zerschießt ja DFE, bzw man hat aus Androdi 12 kein /data mehr (formatieren usw als Lösung). Also Update laden -> Boot to TWRP -> Flash -> Flash DFE.
Macht PE irgendwas anders? "Kann das" mit Android 12 umgehen?

Nur vom Mitlesen, aus schon mal genannten Gründen läuft auf meinem Mi 9 weiterhin crDroid 7.x / Android 11.

Keine(!) aktuelle Custom-Recovery kann mit den Verschlüsselungsalgorithmen von Android 12 umgehen. D. h. im Umkehrschluss, dass ein OtA-Update auf einem unter A12 verschlüsselten Handy nicht ohne Weiteres funktioniert. Somit gibt es für Updates zwei verschiedene Verfahren:

1. Das Handy wird nicht verschlüsselt, unter Inkaufnahme einer sehr viel geringeren Sicherheit.
Dazu wird nach der Installation eines A12-Custom ROM zusätzlich DfE (disable force encryption) geflasht. Das muss passieren, bevor erstmalig ins ROM gebootet wird. Und auch nach jedem Update wieder.
Die PE-Recovery und auch die crDroid-Recovery machen hier nichts anderes, als dass sie das sofortige Booten ins ROM verhindern, so dass erst noch DfE geflasht werden kann. Bisherige Custom-Recoveries, z. B. TWRP, booten automatisch ins ROM, ein Flashen von DfE ist so nicht möglich.

2. Das Handy bleibt verschlüsselt, damit sind OtA-Updates nicht möglich.
Hier muss die zip-Datei mit dem Update lokal gespeichert und von dort installiert werden. Entweder vom PC aus mittels 'adb sideload' oder von einem USB-OtG-Stick in einer Custom-Recovery, die USB-OtG-Sticks unterstützt, z. B. TWRP.
