Once again, I don't think it's worth changing for the European guys. The differences are not that big except for some Spanish and Brazilian resources, plus a few changes which are *generally* older than XWLSD.
The tech details...
Kernel
No differences except for the fact that ganlite is present only in XWLSD (and the corresponding packet filters on the wifi driver)
Modem
Different, you try it to see what's best for you
RIL is also different.
Framework + Apps
Doesn't have a few of the changes introduced in LSD since LS8:
- indian vowels
- audio pause when losing focus on html5 contents
- handling *#7547# dial code in factory test (India related???)
Changes which look newer in UHMS8:
- Several resource changes for latin america languages, mostly strings
- Some SMS changes, including Voicemail handling and Mwi (probably provider-specific)
- More verbose carrier name and network type on the status bar
- New flag CscFeature_Message_CbChannelNb4DisplayInStatusBar (probably related to the previous 2 items)
- Newer version of GroupCast app
- App manager optionally hides the "Disable" option depending on the flag CscFeature_Setting_RemoveDisableButtonInAppMgr
- Some less logging on bluetooth (irrelevant)
- SIM Toolkit setup app now visible in the launcher (depending on CscFeature_RIL_FixedStkMenu)
- My Files tests files of type audio/*
Changes which look older / worse than in XWLSD:
- FM rename dialog changes
- PolarisOffice and SamsungApps are older than LSD
- Keyboard doesn't have the special treatment for Turkish vowels
- Missing magazines and music hub apps
- Contacts - no keyboard predicion when filtering contact names
- Fewer logic in the gallery for the send MMS and Send Gmail actions
- Some changes in MiniDiary
- MMS handling of spam number list
- XWLSD has additional logic in Phone for blocking mode, ganlite, and ICC (smartcard functionality) checks
