trying your new kernel... I take my hat off to you Jochen

yes, you are right with the mah! but wait a moment, your kepler 2 kernel is set to 4000mah?? my battery lasts much longer with your kernel compared to the original one

Hi JK! Im trying your new kernel for Kepler 2.
Sound now is OK. Thank you
OTG runs well now. Thank you again
OC works!

I am still testing. I will report bugs... if i find them!!! ;)

Yes, as far as I had understood the sources it has a config for 4000mah yet. But I think that the better battery life is something that has todo with my cpu frequence settings.

hi JochenKauz, i have been testing your last kernel in pascal2 with oma jb rom 1.2.2, well, in all your kernels i have seen one behaviour that i want to tell you. i am happy with your kernel but maybe it could be better

here we go...when the PASCAL2 is charging and reach 100% of charge, the ray icon in the battery never disapear (and it must disapear), i think that is not charging at full capacity, and when i unplug the charge cable the battery drops quickly from 100 to 95 %. very quickly i think

and the other thing is that in battery graph (settings - battery - details) i can see that the PASCAL2 never enters in "stand by" mode, the "active" bar in the graph is always on.

attached two photos comparing the two graphs of the battery, one is the official rom and the other with the oma rom and your kernel

thanks a lot man

You are right, thats a difference, but I'm not sure if the disapear of the ray icon is something that comes from the kernel. I think it is more a difference in the OS, ICS vs. JB. In my understanding the ray icon does not show that a charging occurs, no it shows that the AC is plugged in. The charging process is not controlled by the OS, it is controlled by the board. On my X8 I have a LED on it which indicates that an AC is connected, and it show a red light if charging and an orange light when charging is finished. Just in the MOment when this LED switches to orange, the OS also switches state from charging to charged in the lock screen. So I think the cut off signal is given to the OS correct, but that is another signal than the signal for AC plugged in or not.
Another indicator for my suggestion is the behavior of the StockRom kernel together with JB. the StockRom was not able to signal the battery status correct. That what I think is, that the signals now work correct, and the kernel only signals both things, fully charged and AC plugged in/not plugged in.

This is something I can not see on my X8, it goes to standby very well.
Please use the NoFrills CPU Meter to look at your statistics, in that app you cann see all speed steps the kernel was taking. Are you sure you have no background process that pretends the Pascal2 to go into standby?

understood first part, ok but i think that my other devices with jelly bean when charged ray icon disapears...i will look a t it more closely, that's not a real problem

second part, graph, no i have not apps in background forcing not going to sleep...one thing i have noticed is that this always happens with roms with microsd (ext sd) as nand, the trick for gamers....LOL, i think this is problem. in oficial rom with normal NAND (internal as nand) goes to sleep and when i use oficial rom with ext_to nand fix, this occurs, tablet never enters stand by mode, so i think it is for using the micro sd for OS...

using no frills cpu i can see that 24 mhz is never reached, in pascal2 and in kepler2. only 104 mhz is the minimum limit reached

what do you think?

thx a lot man

Yes could be with the external sd, cause I always use Oma's intsd to NAND fix.
Regarding 24MHz, you are right my minimum frequenz is 104 too, after that it goes to standby. I think that every job needs more cpu than 24MHz.

i will try intsd_to_nand_fix...but the gamers option is really cool... i love it. just for to see if the stand by works

thanks JochenKauz

Yeah it works lol

Hi again JK! Spanish users are testing new OTA update from Xteam (4.4 OTA) with new things like:
Aggiornamento Ota 4.4 del 24/11/2012
•Nuovo Kernel Unificato Mediacom 810C/CEX
Fix Bluetooth (Thanks Fr@ts0n & JochenKauz)
Adesso il Bluetooth funziona meglio anche se ancora non è perfetto
•Nuova Apk Fotocamera (Android 4.2)
•Nuova Apk Galleria (Android 4.2)
•Nuova Apk Gmail (Android 4.2)
•Nuova Apk Orologio (Android 4.2)
•Corretta la dimensione delle font nel Lockscreen

New kernel makes bluetooh work...!!! Look:

HTCMania - Ver Mensaje Individual - Tutorial XTeam Jelly Beam para Kepler 2 TOTALMENTE FUNCIONAL

But we have lost rotation and RAM (512 Mb instead of 1GB). People are reporting that OC with 1200 mhz makes tablet unstable and it freezes sometimes if we try to change values... I dont know if you can build a kernel for Kepler 2/pascal 2 from this kernel as base, but it will be great for us. Anyway, your previous kernel with OC is still very good value!
Thanks for you attention!

Yes, first result of a closer work of the RK2918 specialists ;-)

Hahaha... Thanks to you too Oma!
Users have a clue about bluetooh problem. A pascal user got BT working with oma jb 1.2.2 kernel (he lost giroscope, HDMI, OTG, but 3g modem worked with OTG ). Maybe this info could help... Here it is:

HTCMania - Ver Mensaje Individual - test kernels - jb

Cause my released kernels are based on the MEDIACOM810HC sources of Yatto/Xteam31, there is nothing to do for me.
What I did in my kernel, was to fix the problems you mention above, and then make additions to code to get BT/OTG/HDMI etc. work.
The only one who could fix this issue would be the Xteam.

I'm really sorry.

Its OK JK!
You have done enought with your kernel for us. At least, we can enjoy JB in our tablets... I was just asking... I dont think that Xteam could solve this, because their tablet isnt like ours, you know (RAM and giroscope... ). Anyway, thank you so much!!

@djkail,
if you want all the functionality, you can use my kernel...
JK-JB-Pascal2-oc1104_20121116.7z

Features for BQ Pascal 2:
Overclocked CPU 1104MHz
Minimum CPU 24MHz
DDR RAM 1024MB/ 430MHz
Extended BT Stack by fr3ts0n
HDMI Fix
Camera Fix
TUN/TAP Device activated (VPN)
NTFS Support

What I cannot fix is the OTA. So if you use my kernel, you have to switch it off, or you will get the kernel from the xteam.

A complete overwiew of my kernels is here:
Homebrew kernel for Odys NEO X8/X7 und BQ Kepler 2/Pascal 2

If you want to switch off OTA update in xteam roms, you have to edit the build.prop file and delete the OTA lines. ;)

That's ALL

Bye,
Yatto from Xteam !

Thank's Yatto for this explanation, I think should solve the issue of djkail.

@yatto: nice new kernel logo!

btw in my builds I take care of the kernel logo by not showing the boot logo ;-)

Hi,

i Hope you can solve the issue of many users. This guys have a Mediacom 8203G, that is like a 810c (aka BQ Kepler) but the wifi chip is BCM4329

With my source I can't compile the kernel with this driver....

Can you make a kernel with this Wifi Chip ?

Thanks a Lot !

Yatto.

Hi Oma
Don't you like the Xteam boot logo ?

However we'll change it very soon ;)
