Here we go..

First kernel (Smartpad 810c Kernel 3.0.8 from BQ Kepler2 Sources)
JK-Smartpad-810c-Kernel-3.0.8.7z

Second kernel (X-team Extreme 3.1 Kernel for Smartpad 810c aka NextBook 8P aka Prestigio Multipad 5080B aka BQ Kepler aka Smart'Tab 8008 )
JK-yattoxteam31-org.7z

Credit goes to yatto/xteam!

Known problems:
Batterystatus not working (patch is not applied)
Autorotation not working
512MB RAM

These kernels are only test kernels, to find out what kernel perhaps works on kepler 2.
Both kernels work on NEOX8, but use on your own risk!

Please make a full flash from Oma's JB 1.2.2 including the nand fix! If you need further instructions feel free to ask.

@pais83, Imemperador
please flash it as mentioned above and tell me if none, one or both work. If we have success with one of the kernels, I can configure it to 1024MB, apply the battery fix and make a new test.

First thank you for the selfless work. Tested kepler2 and oma rom 1.2.1 jb:
rotation does not work
Battery does not update
recognizes only 512 of ram
overclock works
Thank you.

Which of both kernels work? Both?

The problems are mentioned in my post, and are something I'm working on.

Battery Fix could be applied. 1024MB Memory could be patched, Autorotation is in work with Astralix.

If I know whitch of my test kernels work I can patch it to 1024MB RAM, hopefully this should work on kepler2.

i thinks that bumperiano has tested only the First kernel (X-team Extreme 3.1 Kernel for Smartpad 810c aka NextBook 8P aka Prestigio Multipad 5080B aka BQ Kepler aka Smart'Tab 8008 )

filename --> JK-yattoxteam31-org.7z

but i can be wrong.

Hi. The report is the first kernel you uploaded (xtream). Then I saw that you uploaded the other kernel. I just try and have obtained the same result that XTeam, but obviously not overclock.
The'm trying installing it directly with rktool activating only parameter and kernel.

@lmemperador
that would be very interesting, cause there is a difference in the config of both kernels.
The first one is configured with DDR frequency of 456MHz, the second one with 400MHz.

If this is really a difference, I don't know. Astra told me that this board type is not capable for 1,2GHz and all is only a fake of the chinese builders. The max frequency is 1,1GHz.
So the patch shows 1,2 but in reality its only 1,1GHz.
But I think better then nothing:razz:

Okay this one works:
JK-yattoxteam31-org.7z

I'll give this a try and patch it to 1024MB.. only to be sure I don't apply the battery patch.. if it works the battery pach could be applied without problems.

ok, just a comment...a spanish developer has build a kernel with 1,2 ghz for the bq pascal2, and i think the boards (kepler2 and pascal2) are almost the same in hardware, but i can be wrong again...:)

in setcpu you can see that cpu is configured max to 1,2 ghz - min 200 mhz,

thx :)

Interesting point.. I have seen modifications in cpufreq.c.
Something I'll have to check. What I can say is this, my X8 has a normal Antutu Benchmakr score of 2500-2700, with the xteam kernel I got 3000.

I'm building a new kernel just this moment, we should give it a try.

:), thank you very much JochenKauz
and take your time. there is no hurry at all.

Please make a full flash including eraseidb..

your cpu was idle? lol
you are my hero JochenKauz

just another comment, this is the table of frequencies of the kernel i told you before (for the BQ PASCAL2 tablet, same board that KEPLER2)

204 ...mhz
300
408
600
816
1008
1104
1176
1200... mhz

********
and this is the thread of the kernel, you can see here the table of frecuencies and maybe the repositories or something...i do not know,i do not know so much about linux and android, i am just an advanced user of android...:( :confused:

KERNEL vurrutKER v1 (1200Mhz)[20/05] - HTCMania

just for information, thx ++

my fault...excuse me, the repositories of the kernel are not in that thread, i will try to tell the developer about that. maybe i will have luck...i will tell you something one day. but this is not a need, of course. it is just for information...you do not have to do nothing about it.

i have fiound this --> Repositorios
but in that page i only see repositories for the samsung i9003 stock rom or ics rom, and i think this is not usefull at all. but i may be wrong again my friend. lol

thanks for your time JochenKauz - dankbar

If you look at my first kernel (Smartpad810C) this is the "original" kernel of BQ Kepler 2, without a patch of cpu frequency, only modifications from yatto to make it run.
I have the sources of BQ for the kepler 2 also, and the differences are not very big.

I think you are searching for that repo:
https://github.com/CM9-Pascal2

or this one, joaqium was working with the yteam to solve the battery problem:
https://github.com/joaquimorg

yes, i was searching that info, i do not know if they are usefull in any way, just excuse my unexperience in this area. :( do you mean that vurrut has made his kernel taking yours as base or something like this...interesting, i do not know. maybe

one last thing, i can tell that the pascal 2 with that kernel is working fine at 100% stability, no issues with overclocking. i have one...lol, and a zt180 (very old tablet)

thx JochenKauz

@JochenKauz
hi again, i have tested the 2 kernels with 1.22 OMA JB rom

JK-yattoxteam31-1024MB.7z is ok, all as expected (1024 mb ram ok)

JK-yattoxteam31-1024MB-batteryfix.7z is ok, all as expected i think the battery indicator is ok. it drains 1 by 1

success

thank you so much JochenKauz :) it is time to go to bed ... lol

No, no... too much honor for me.

I'm only a kernel builder who has found the mediacom sources of yatto/xteam. I use this sources for my own project in getting a working kernel, including an autorotation fix, for my NEOX8. I think that yatto, joaquin, vurrut, etc. all use one base and then developed their own forks, like me.

Credits goes to yatto/xteam/joaquim

Here is another kernel, the same as the last akkufix kernel from me, but with an more eye friendly boot logo:thumbup:
JK-kepler2-1024MB-batteryfix-20121101.7z

Known Problems:
Autorotation not working.

I'm working on this problem for my NEOX8 kernel. If I find a solution, I try to integrate it into the kepler2 kernel, so stay tuned!

Hi! I came from htcmania.com like lmemperador and pais 83... Some user reported problems with this and previous kernels... It seems that tablet hangs because 1200 mhz clock... Could it be possible to make another kernel without overclock? (stock clock 1008 mhz )... I readed that you are looking for a solution for autorotation too... I only want to thank you for all the work you have done... Thank you so much... Hope you can solve autorotation too... You are awesome!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hi,
you have 2 possibilities

1. use an app like No-frills CPU Control to change the governor from interaktiv to ondemand/conservative. Or use the app to change the max cpu from 1200 to 1,008 GHz, perhaps you try also 1,104GHz.
2. you can give this kernel a try:
JK-kepler2-1024MB-notoverclocked-batteryfix-20121101.7z
It is the Smartpad810C kernel of yatto/xteam, with the battery fix applied, patched to 1024MB, and compiled with an eyefriendly boot logo.
