Testpatch für 3G Problem

Da man im englischen Forum den Patch veröffentlicht hat, nehme ich die Gelegenheit wahr und poste hier die Übersetzung für alle Leidgeplagten:

DIES IST EINE ÜBERSETZUNG EINER NACHRICHT VON LENOVO! BEI DEM VORLIEGENDEN PATCH HANDELT ES SICH UM EINE TESTVERSION! BITTE LEST NUR WEITER, WENN IHR EUCH DESSEN BEWUSST SEID! ICH PERSÖNLICH HAFTE NICHT FÜR ETWAIGE SCHÄDEN!


Voraussetzung zum Testen dieses Patches:

ACHTUNG: Dieser Patch versetzt Euer System in den Auslieferungszustand zurück!
HINWEIS: Ohne diesen Patch wird das Gerät nicht mehr in der Lage sein spätere OTA-Updates zu empfangen

Anleitung zum Installieren der Patches:

1. Patch Datei runterladen und auf die SD-Karte kopieren
2. Stelle sicher, dass das Tablet ausgeschaltet ist
3. Stecke die SD-Karte in den dafür vorgesehen Slot des Tablets
4. Boote das Tablet und starte den Recovery Modus (Powerknopf und Volume-Up Knopf gleichzeitig halten, bis das Tablet vibriert, dann Volume-Up Knopf mehrfach drücken; nach ca. 1-2 Sekunden solltest Du das Recovery-Menü sehen)
5. Wähle „Apply update from SD Card“ innerhalb des Recovery-Menüs (mit den Lautstärke Tasten navigierst Du nach oben und unten, mit dem Power Knopf wählst Du die markierte Option aus)
6. Wähle nun den Patch auf der SD-Karte aus und starte den Patchvorgang mit dem Powerknopf
7. Warte bis der Updatevorgang abgeschlossen ist (ca. 60-90 Sekunden)
8. Reboote das Tablet
9. Wenn Du dich wieder innerhalb des normalen Betriebssystems befindest, prüfe bitte ob neue OTA-Updates zur Verfügung stehen. (Einstellungen -> Über das Tablet -> System Updates)

Procedure to apply patch
1 - Copy the file to an SD card.
2 - Make sure the Indigo tablet is powered OFF (not sleep, but a full shutdown).
3 - Insert the SD card into the Indigo.
4 - Boot the Indigo into "Recovery Mode"
- Hold the "Volume UP" key and the power button at the same time.
- When the Indigo vibrates, begin "tapping" the volume up button (press, release, press, release, etc)
- In about 1-2 seconds, you should see the message "Booting Recovery Console" on the Indigo. You can stop pressing the vol up button.
5 - Once in the recovery menu, the volume UP and DOWN keys move the "selection" and the power button is like pressing ENTER.
- Press the volume down button once to navigate to "Apply update from SD Card"
- Press the power button to select that.
- Now use the volume down button to navigate down to the update.
- Press the power button to begin applying it.
6 - It should take about 60-90 seconds to apply. Once it's done, reboot the device!
7 - Once you are back in the normal OS, go to Settings -> About tablet -> "System updates" and check for new updates as normal.

b) Wenn das wirklich von Lenovo wäre, warum liegt das bei Dropbox und nicht auf dem Patch-Server?

b) Weil das ein Pfuscherladen ist? (Oder damit er nicht "versehentlich" von Nutzern heruntergeladen und installiert wird, die nicht wissen, was sie tun und wofür der Patch überhaupt gut ist und ihn einfach mal aus Prinzip installieren, obwohl sie von dem Problem gar nicht betroffen sind, wird schon neuer und besser sein...)

Naja,

zwei Seiten hat das Spiel natürlich. Vorab ist jenen geholfen, die das TPT mobil nutzen. Ich bin inzwischen wieder auf mein Thinkpad Notebook mit UMTS umgestiegen. Böse finde ich, dass man ein restore des patches macht um wieder updatefähig zu sein und dabei alles auf Null setzt.

Solche Dinge passieren in jedem Laden, bei dem mir sinst nicht so angenehmen Bude Sony, hat bei selbiger Problemstellung eine Ecke fixer reagiert.

Böse finde ich, dass man ein restore des patches macht um wieder updatefähig zu sein und dabei alles auf Null setzt.

Na ja, es geht eben nicht alles wieder auf Null.
Bei mir blieben während der verschiedenen Tests die Daten beim Restore mittels Patch erhalten.
