[KERNEL] RAGEmod v1.1a

My new kernel!
Will come in two flavours:

• U1 - based on Samsung Update1
• U2 - based on Samsung Update2 - not released yet.

Features:

• support for SetCPU OC (upto 1400MHz)
• UV between 800mV and 1400mV
• support for Boot Animation
• support for BLN

The goal of my first kernel was to take the battery savings gained from HardCORE's kernel and allow undervolting and underclocking to further improve battery life. I added Boot Animation and BLN support just because I could. This kernel adds to my previous kernels, taking bits and pieces from here and there also.

As usual, this kernel could break your hardware, so only flash if you are not concerned with bricking your device.

Thanks also to the authors of Ninphetamine kernel - their SetCPU supporting code was the basis for the SetCPU support in this kernel, I have also used BLN code from their Git Repository, thanks to creams.

Change Log:

Future plans:

• Auto Root-ing

bisher akkulaufzeit supi mit leichtem uv, unterschiede zum speedmod ori kann ich aktuell noch nicht sagen, mal sehn ansonsten ist der kernel aber einwandfrei.

Hab mir die v1-T30 auch mal geflasht. Wollte den Speedmod aufgrund der Berichte über die gute Akkulaufzeit mal probieren, aber nicht auf BLN verzichten.

Bisher ohne UV (habe ich noch nie probiert!). Mal sehen, wie es läuft. Ansonsten muss ich mich damit mal beschäftigen.

Fand ich sehr interessant, weil ich mich das mit den Updates auch gefragt habe.
Es scheint für den Enduser also egal zu sein.

And just out of curiosity, why do you support only OC up to 1400MHz? Any reason not to do the 1600? Not that I'm missing it big time, just curious.

Update2 is more 'uptodate' i.e. it has patches from newer versions of the main linux
kernel, I am not really sure if it adds much functionality or features.

OC only up to 1400MHz for the following reasons:
1. 1600MHz is heavy on battery.
2. 1600MHz is higher than the old school OC 'standard 10%' safety margin (and so is 1400MHz, but without 1400MHz, there is no OC!)
3. I have not come across any valid reason to run at 1600MHz - all apps are designed for much slower processors.
4. The reason for SetCPU support was more for UV than OC; to get better battery life.

nein, er ist standarmässsig mit Standard-Spannungen

UV kannste dann eben mit SetCPU wie gewohnt von z.B. Ninphetamine

Dachte für einen neuen Kernel gibts einen neuen Thread,weil den "alten" Kernel wird er, wie ich verstanden habe, nicht mehr weitermachen
Aber ok der Titel ist ja angepasst. Dann lassen wir das mal so!!
Bin schon gespannt wann die U2 kommt.

Ich habs der Übersichtlichkeit in den Thread geschoben, ist ja der selbe Kernel nur halt ne neue Version.

Hallo,

Ich hab den Kernel jetzt über cwm geflasht, unter info ist auch die Kernel Version vertreten.. Jetzt hab ich mir mal ein paar Test sms zwecks BLN schicken lassen, aber leider blinken die 2 softkeys nicht auf sobald ich ne sms bekomme Gibt es noch was zu beachten?

Ich habe die FW KH3 gerootet und hab einfach den Kernel geflasht..

ja hab ich, sobald ich die app öffne, erscheint die meldung das mein handy die nutzung von bln nicht unterstützt!

Activate BLN button lässt sich nicht anklicken, ist ja nicht so das ich es nicht schon versucht hätte^^ Hab mir jetzt mal zum testen ninphetamine kernel geflasht, selbst da lässt es sich nicht activieren, echt komisch.. Aber eigentlich ist das ja unabhängig vom ROM oder? ich hab nämlich keine custom rom drauf, falls dies relevant sein sollte

EDIT: Lässt sich dieser Kernel nicht über CWM flashen?? seit ich es versucht habe kann ich nix mehr über CWM flashen, sowohl Akku anzeige, crt effect, als auch andere kernel?! Ich ahne nix gutes -.-
