Warum findet mein Telefon kein Update?
Die OTA-Updates werden z.T. erst nach 21 Uhr freigeschaltet.

Warum dauert das Update so lange?
Das Pixel hat zwei Partitionen, das Betriebssystem ist quasi doppelt im Speicher.
Wenn ein Update kommt, wird es auf die nicht verwendete Partition aufgespielt.
Anschließend werden Apps/Einstellungen von der aktiven Partition mit der bislang nicht verwendeten abgeglichen.
Schließlich wird der Cache aller Apps zurückgesetzt (Optimierung).
Wenn das alles erledigt ist, wird man zum Neustart aufgefordert.
Dabei wird dann auf die bislang nicht verwendete Partition mit erfolgtem Update umgeschaltet.

Damit man das Telefon währenddessen weiter nutzen kann, passiert das alles im Hintergrund mit niedriger Priorität.
Deshalb dauert es, und deshalb ist es egal, ob das Update nur ein kB oder mehrere MB groß ist.
Denn nicht die Änderung dauert, sondern das danach.

Der Vorteil ist, läuft beim Update etwas schief, kann auf die Version vor dem Update umgeschaltet werden.

Tipp: Wenn ein Update kommt, Abends ans Netzteil, Update starten und am nächsten Morgen neu starten.

Warum ist der Google Play Sicherheitsstand nicht aktuell?
Das Google-Play-Systemupdate ist unabhängig vom monatlichen Pixel-Sicherheitsupdate.
Es ist also durchaus normal, wenn der Google Play Sicherheitsstand älter ist!

Dei sind heute ja extrem früh dran mit der Ankündigung - normalerweise kam die ja immer erst nach 19 Uhr. Ich denke dass dann auch im Laufe des Abends die OTA-Images auf dem o.g. Server zum Download freigegeben werden.

Da musst du schon direkt bei Google nachfragen, warum die jetzt diesen (älteren) Kernel verwenden.
Nach dem November-Update hatte ich auch die gleiche Kernel-Version wie du: Pixel 8 Pro Updates im November (Google Pixel 8 Pro Forum)

2.1 GB ? Gibts das auch als Update in moderater Grösse später während des Pokalspiels ?

Das OTA-Image von der Website wird über einen PC eingespielt und das dauert so 10-15 min. Du kannst auch auf dem Smartphone nach dem OTA-Update suchen und dann wird es nicht so groß sein (beim Pixel 7 Pro sind es wohl rund 440 MB - EDIT: das ist wohl die Version für die QPR-Beta-Aussteiger) - die Installation läuft dann im Hintergrund (Du kannst das Gerät also einfach weiternutzen), dauert aber auch etwas länger. Wenn Das Update schon das "neue" Updatesystem nutzt, wird es wohl weniger als eine Stunde dauern, ist es noch das alte, dauert es möglicherweise länger. Aber wie gsagt, das Gerät ist während des Updates voll nutzbar.

BTW die neue Webcam-Funktion aus dem Feature Drop klappt unter Windows 10 problemlos.

Also ich hab das mit sideload nicht hinbekommen. Irgendwie will der nicht mehr, ging früher immer problemlos.

Sideload ging bei mir durch.
Jemand eine Idee wie der Videoboost genau funktionieren soll? Hab keine Möglichkeit für einen "Boost" - Sicherung über Fotos ist an.

evtl. eine zu alte ADB-Version? Mit meinen Platform Tools 33.0.3 hat es auf jeden Fall geklappt, obwohl es nicht die aktuellsten sind.

@schinge hab 34.0.5 und 33.0.3 probiert, vielleicht muss ich noch ein paar USB Kabel durch testen oder mal aufm Laptop. Über die Suche nach Updates findet er ja nix.
