Nach Maps 7.0 Update kein Latitude mehr

Moin,

heute morgen aufgewacht, wollte gleich mal schauen wo sich meine Kumpels rumtreiben...
Über Nacht hatte sich Maps auf Version 7.0 geupdatet. Neues Design UND LATITUDE FEHLT - AHHHH!!!!

Habe jetzt hier

nachgelesen, dass das wohl auch so beabsichtigt ist und man nur noch als Google+Mitglied diesen Service weiternutzen kann.

Ich möchte aber unter keinen Umständen Google+ beitreten.

Wie komme ich jetzt trotzdem an Latitude?
Kann man zurück auf eine ältere Version von Maps updaten?

Das ist eine Original apk aus dem Playstore , direkt von meinem Smartphone. Ich speichere grundsätzlich alle apks nach der Installation aus dem Playstore in meiner Dropbox.

Ich benutze Latify schon lange nicht mehr über Google Maps, sondern über Latify . Latify als Latitude-Erweiterung ist zuverlässiger und besser konfigurierbar als das alte Latitude selber, benutzt aber dessen Schnittstelle.

Die Daten, die ich mit Latify erzeuge, kann ich dann genau so im "Google Standortverlauf" sehen, als ob ich sie direkt in Latitude aufgenommen hätte.

Meiner Erfahrung nach ist Latitude erst durch Latify wirklich gut benutzbar.

Im Gegensatz zu Latitude kann man Latify detailliert konfigurieren. Unter anderem kann man in den Profilen einstellen, bis zu welcher Ungenauigkeit aufgezeichnet werden soll (um Ausreißer zu eliminieren). Man kann auch einstellen, wann und wie oft der Standort aufgezeichnet oder übertragen werden soll.

Mit App Monster pro! Eine andere Möglichkeit wäre ApkShare.

Das bringt alles wenig mit den Tipps oben, da Latitude samt Schnittstelle in einem Monat komplett eingestellt wird.

Richtig. Google stampft es am 9 August ein. Dann hilft auch keine, alte Maps Version.
Wer eine Art Latitude, ab dem 9 August nutzen möchte, der muss ab dem Tag zu Google+ greifen. Wohl ein weiterer Versuch künstlich die G+ Nutzerzahlen zu erhöhen.

Wenn es in Google + integriert wird, kann man es ja trotzdem weiterhin nutzen.

Was da in Google+ ist, ist jedoch kein Latitude. Man kann halt seinen Standort teilen.

Aber eigentlich finde ich diesen Punkt auch ok. Das Teilen von Standorten gehört für mich eher in ein soziales Netzwerk, weniger in eine Karten und Navigationsapp.

Hm, die Aufzeichnung des Standorts (ohne detailliertes und Batteriefressendes GPS-Logging) fand ich, insbesondere auf Reisen, eigentlich ganz charmant. Aber der "Standortverlauf" scheint nun ganz wegzufallen.

Komisch, hat jemand auch das Problem, dass bei Google+ unter Standort nur graue Kästchen angezeigt werden - und keine Karte???

Seit Latitude aus Google Maps verschwunden ist, nutzen wir innerhalb der Familie ff. App

Bisher sind wir damit sehr zufrieden, ist nur schade, dass Google diese Funktion zu Google plus verschoben hat.

Die Frage ist, was mit externen Apps von Drittanbietern wie Latify passieren wird. Ich habe dazu den Entwickler von Latify gefragt. Hier ist seine Antwort:

"I'm looking at several options at the moment but I cannot give a definitive answer on what the future of Latify will be.

What we know is

- Latitude and the Latitude API will be retired in favor of Google+ integration.
- There's no real API for Google+ Locations so Latify cannot make use of it.
- Location based services in Google+ are not well defined (there is something on the Android app, but almost nothing on the desktop/website)

As long as there is no API there is very little I can do.
The only option I see to move away from Latitude/Google+ locations entirely and have Latify use it's own dedicated system for storing user locations / location history / friends.
I could add different "connectors" allowing you to update your location to local files , GPS logs, third party apps, REST based APIs,.....
We would lose the link with Google, but could have some additional features like location sharing options, real-time location sharing, location history sharing, ....

If and when a Google+ API becomes available Latify can start making use of it. But I doubt they will release an API for this any time soon.

If all of this will be ready in one months time is doubtful. I should have more news by the end of this week.
Retiring the app is unfortunately also an option as migrating to a new backend is a substantial investiment (both time and cost).

I wish I had some better news, but developers had no upfront warning about this, and getting everything ready in just under 4 weeks is almost impossible."

Funktioniert bei euch noch die Standortmitteilung in G+ ?

Bei mir ist der einzige Kontakt den ich hatte verschwunden :/

Er meint er habe alles korrekt eingestellt, aber G+ sagt es wurden keine Standorte miteinander geteilt. also auch keine Echtzeit Infos.
