Here is good news

As users may be aware MIUI V4 2.11.2 (development version) Theme system appeared with some serious BUGS. These bugs lead to problems downloading and applying custom / mix themes. Users encountered boot loop problems as well as being unable to apply their own downloaded themes.

Users have expressed a lot of opinion over these issues, some of the main issues are highlighted below:

1. Emergency update to fix Theme problems
A: Fix to authorisation server instability issues lead to some users own themes or mashups (mix) themes being unable to be applied. Some users themes failed to import correctly due to this authorisation issue.

2. Will MIUI official production themes be paid or free?
A: ALL MIUI official production themes will be permanently free.

3. Themes i've download previously will no longer work?
A: No, your themes you have previously downloaded prior to V4 2.11.2 will continue to be permanently free to use.

4. Who decides what theme / resource is paid for or free?
A: This is the decision of the theme designer. The MIUI theme release platform will allow designers to choose if their theme / resource is paid for or free. Xiaomi will not choose which themes to make premium (paid for).

5. Will FREE themes be of a lesser quality than premium themes?
A: No, MIUI official themes will continue with the production of high-quality free theme resources. A theme contest has already been running for the last 2 years to get the most creative and free themes into the theme repository. Today MIUI opened a new incentive to theme designers to submit their free themes to win rewards such as, money or gifts.

MIUI China have today released emergency build 2.11.5 to attempt to resolve many of the issues reported using MIUI ROM 2.11.2

Mal eine generelle Frage zu den Updates: Gibt es einen Unterschied zwischen den ZIPs, die über den Updater geladen werden, zu denen, die ich manuell runterladen kann? Also kann ich die ZIPs, die als vollständige ROMs angeboten werden einfach über die alte Installation drüber installieren und habe den gleichen Effekt, wie wenn ich auf den Updater warte?

ja, der Effekt ist der gleiche, in der Regel sind die Upades aber erst später im Updater.

Today marks the first 45 weeks of 2012! the year is now coming to a close but the team is still working hard to optimise and improve MIUI.

This weeks recommended updates include:

Messaging application improvements
This week the team have given some focus to optimisation of SMS and MMS functions. Fixes to some synchronisation issues with MMS and improvements to sync performance of SMS messages from the Internet to your device(s).

Browser UI improvements
This weeks update brings improvements to the browsers home page bookmarks and general navigation. The new navigation is more convenient to use and brings a modern look to the UI.

Gallery
Optimised support for viewing larger GIF images and in some cases fix cropping of pictures failed to crop successfully

Gibt es denn nun einen Hotfix für das i9000? Habe nun die 2.11.5 installiert und das Theme Problem ist vorhanden, obwohl ich das ROM von Heffernan genommen habe, in dem der Hotfix eingearbeitet sein sollte:

This weeks recommended updates

1. Desktop shortcut toggle (switches)

The notification bar shortcut toggles (switches) are one of the popular features in MIUI ROM and now you can place them on your desktop for quick switching to apps or other functions.

Open Desktop editing mode by long-pressing screen or select menu and edit widgets. Then select menu followed by the 'Add' option. Select Toggle and you can then choose which shortcut toggles to add to your homescreen(s).

2. New Dolby Equaliser (With supported devices only)

Now you can take full control of how you listen to your favourite tracks, TV shows or movies. You can set surround sound mode (using headphones) or select from a range of preset equalizer settings such as Rock, Pop, Dance, Jungle or RnB.

Open Settings > Sound > Dolby Mobile Control > Dolby Effects to see more!

3. Mobile Data Traffic usage
You can now set the data traffic limit yourself. The option of the Chinese operators has been taken away to allow international users to make better use of the function.

Bad news or great news @miuirom Why is it you guys want more fan sites and international followers when you have neglected to inform developers that your new installd binary limits port developers to creating MIUI ports for non-official devices.

It seems you guys are creating a walled garden OS like Apple. Over the last few months you guys have dropped the ball on the ROM and quality seems to be replaced with ideas of monetizing the ROM. You are probably aware of an Open Source effort to re-make MIUI Framework as people are growing tired of the lack of support for International users. Oppo finder is another prime example of issues. No aapt source from you or Oppo China. CC: @MiuiPt @miuifrance @miuiger @MiuiPt @miui_ita @miui_germany @miuibr @MIUISuisse @miuius

hiermit verkünden wir, dass wir ab sofort den wöchentlichen Release-Rhythmus nicht mehr beibehalten werden. Aufgrund interner Umstrukturierungen, werden wir neue Versionen nun im 4-Wochen Rhythmus veröffentlichen.

Hallo Fangemeinde, habe mich jetzt im zweiten Anlauf, weil Ich das SGS schon eine Weile nicht mehr nutze entschlossen, den SGS Bereich nun endgültig zu verlassen.

Die Rom Beiträge bei denen es es weiter aktuelle Updates gibt lasse Ich offen, nicht mehr aktuellen werden geschlossen. Wer aktiv ein Rom nutzt, kann gerne den betreffenden Port einen neuen Beitrag aufmachen, meiner kann auch geschlossen werden.

Zur Erinnerung, wie schon kürzlich angekündigt: Allgemeine News, Change Log, Themes, etc;
findet Ihr Zukünftig ausschließlich im Allgemein Bereich.

Finde ich vollkommen okay. Es gibt für das SGS inzwischen so viele verschiedene ROMs, die regelmäßige Updates bekommen, dass ich auch den Überblick verloren habe. Denke mit den vorhandenen Threads und mit Google lässt sich das passende ROM finden, wenn man über den allgemeinen Thread auf dem Laufenden gehalten wird.

Wie Du weißt - und viele andere User auch - habe ich Deine Arbeit, Deinen Enthusiasmus und Deine volle Hingabe für deine "AH-Berufung" immer sehr geschätzt.
Du warst immer am Puls der Zeit, immer früh mit Thread-Updates, mit News (wo Du die immer hergeholt hast ?!?) und und und !!!

Wenn einer hier den Status EHRENMITGLEID verdient hat, dann wohl Du !!!

Viele jüngere Mitglieder können das sicher nicht nachvollziehen, aber für mich in meinen Android-Anfangszeiten warst Du sowas wie ein Anführer, der Fels in der Brandung und ich habe zu Dir aufgeschaut.

Du hast echt was auf dem Kasten und ich hoffe, im S3-Bereich wird das ebenso geschätzt, wie Deine Arbeit hier von mir und vielen anderen Usern !!!

Seit der 2.11.30 gibt es ja nun das Problem, dass sich einige Apps nicht installieren lassen, weder über den Market, noch Titanium Back oder als APKs. Hat jemand hierfür eine Lösung?
Probleme mit dem Modem lassen sich durch ein neues Modem lösen, Probleme mit den Themes über die Verwendung eines alten Theme Managers. Aber dieses App Problem ist hartnäckig.

Da ich hier nicht edititen kann: Bis jetzt ist für mich die ROM von rtfpossea (2.12.7) die beste Version. Alle Apps lassen sich installieren, Themes lassen sich anwenden und Verbindung zu WLAN und Mobilfunk läuft. Herrlich, endlich.
