MIUI 2.8.3 Recommended updates (Preview changelog)

Recommended updates:

1. New, Support to globally effect font-size, see (Settings > Full Settings > Display Settings > Font size) for info
2. Online version of MIUI Weather (We will check if this includes international support from Xiaomi!)
3. Notes app now supports inserting contacts and pictures
4. New system updater reporting to give feedback on MIUI ROM

Further improvements will be made to the Xiaomi Cloud services as well to improve performance and stability.

MIUI ROM 2.8.10 Preview Change log

Xiaomi account contacts synchronisation services at i.xiaomi.com can now make use of advanced features such as Address book recovery function. You can shoose to restore your contacts for up to 60 days in any selected period you choose for the backup. If you mistakenly delete contacts this feature will allow you to easily recover them.

Online MiCloud Albums synchronisation, the release is still undergoing testing and should be optimised in time for Fridays release.

Recommended ROM updates for this Friday:

1. Desktop widgets, improved support for dynamic effects (Such as desktop clock dynamic effects, more about this on Friday)

2. Enhanced MiDrive functions, select from other applications to send files directly to your MiDrive. For example, send songs and pictures to MiDrive, this will also include Contact avatar upload support as well.

3. Improvement to MiCloud Picture sync settings
Solve power consumption issues with constant sync, now has option to only sync when charging, more about this on Friday)

Finally, next Thursday 16th August will mark the 2nd birthday for MIUI, witness a major announcement from Xiaomi. More news to follow!​

Send SMS messages to a contact, you can now directly select thw most recent contacts, groups or favorites.

3. Recent task list support to enter application process details
You can now long press the clean up memory key to directly open the list of running tasks, this is to meet the needs of some ROM users who have asked about this functionality.

Significant updates to improve the Xiaomi MI-ONE Plus camera quality, noise reduction and image sensor optimisations

MIUI ROM 2.9.7 Changelog

This weeks recommended updates:

1. New automatic call recording function
You can select multiple numbers to automatically record when making / receieving calls

2. New Lock screen misuse prevention mode
If you have your phone in your trouser pocket, often you may find your phone functions due to not being locked. The proximity sensor will judge any misuse based on distance / covering of sensor. The aim is to prevent phone misuse when loose in pocket.

3. MIUI Video player updates
Added new video decoder version to improve the range of supported video formats and in addition improve playback smoothness. Also added this week, screenshot capture function, full-screen playback, orientation lock (rotate). Due to hardware limitations at present the MI-ONE will receieve the update first this week, closely followed by other devices.

Other:

• i.xiaomi.com support to retrieve phone functions, track and control of your MIUI phone system (Possibly China only)
• i.xiaomi.com support to delete, re-upload / download photos
• Another new Free MiHome theme coming this week as well
