You need:

How to flash:

• Download ROM and place it on your virtual SD card
• Boot your phone in recovery mode (vol down + power)
• In main menu, select "install zip from sdcard"
• Select "choose zip from sdcard" and browse to the location of Android Revolution ROM
• You can use data wiping option in AROMA (optionally if coming from earlier version of my ROM, obligatory if coming from stock or other custom ROM)
• After flashing process is complete, reboot the device

Wie sieht es mit der externen SD Karte aus? Hat man da volle Schreibrechte? Ich nutze zur Zeit Stock Rom, da ärgert mich die eingeschränkte SD Unterstützung am meisten. Ich hatte beim m7 immer ARHD drauf, wollte zwecks OTA Updates aber nun Stock bleiben. Leider gibt es ARHD nicht mit OTA. Und beim Wechsel auf eine neue Base muss bzw. sollte man Full Wipe machen.

Hallo,

ich nutze zwar InsertCoin, aber mache meist einen dirty flash.

Das heißt einfach drüber bügeln klappt fast immer.

ART soll mal die Dalvik Engine ersetzen, das ist noch nicht 100% ausgereift wird aber immer besser.

Bei InsertCoin habe alle Apps die Berechtigung auf die SD zu schreiben,
daher denke ich das dies bei ARHD auch so ist.

Also gerade unter ART ist das ROM der Hammer. Unausgereiftes kann ich nicht feststellen. Von 30 Apps lässt sich lediglich eine nicht installieren, damit kann ich leben. Erst recht wenn ich sehe, wie butterweich das Scrollen jetzt läuft, gerade in so miserabel programmierten Apps wie Facebook usw. Kein Vergleich, ehrlich, probiert es aus

Kann man ARHD einfach mit ART drüber installieren, zum testen?
Und bei Bedarf wieder mit Dalvik installieren, wenn man möchte?
Die Meinungen im Netz sind zum Thema ART ja nicht gerade eindeutig.
Im übrigen wäre vielleicht nicht Schlecht, wenn es eine Liste gäbe mit den Apps welche funktionieren bzw. genau nicht.
Dann können sich Interessierte besser ein Bild machen, ob der Umstieg für Sie das richtige ist.

unter Einstellungen > Entwickleroptionen > Laufzeit auswählen kannst du zwischen ART und Dalvik umschalten.

ART funktioniert nur mit odexed Roms! So weit ich weiß.

Ich habe mir mal den Spaß gegönnt, hat ein wenig gedauert bei ca. 35 Appz,
ob enormer Geschwindigkeitsvorteil zu verzeichnen ist, kann ich ungemessen
nicht pauschal sagen, gefühlt ja, aber 2 M8 laufen hier ja so schon onTOP,
alle Appz laufen, ebenso WhatsApp, obwohl dahin gegenteilig berichtet wurde.
Ich werde noch beobachten und möglichst berichten falls etwas eintreten sollte,
was man informativ weiter geben kann.

Das Installieren dauert länger, die Bedienung ist dafür aber so was von Spürbar besser. Selbst bei dieser App hier.

Edit: Akku Laufzeit ist auch besser. Ich habe den Kernel auf 1.5 GHz laufen. Rennt immer noch deutlich besser für mich. Mein Fokus liegt auf flüssiger Bedienung und die ist mit ART eindeutig gegeben und merklich besser als mit Dalvik. Es hat aber wie gesagt auch seine Nachteile (Die Apps benötigen mehr Speicher, Installationen dauert etwas länger und noch sind nicht alle Programme kompatibel).

Nach dem zweiten/dritten Boot hat sich alles weitestgehend eingepegelt,
alles läuft wie es soll, hatte dahingehend Bedenken, das installieren ist in
der Wartezeit noch einen Tick flotter geworden als nach dem ersten Start,
ich denke es ist auch eine Kopfsache wenn man sich derart darauf versteift.
Optimales Laufverhalten, Akku Performance sollte noch langfristig ins Auge
gefasst werden. Was aufgefallen ist, die 2 M8 wurden merklich wärmer als
auf ART umgeswitcht wurde, dieses Verhalten ist nun nicht mehr vorhanden.

Das nur mal als kurze Info dazu.

Laut den paar apps, die ich probiert hab (von denen glaub nur antutu CPU master (free) am besten funktioniert hat), hat die CPU Laut anzeige max 2.36 Ghz (also das, was normal ist), und als Minimum aber stolze 1.71 Ghz.
Ist das korrekt/normal?

Bzw, welche apps kann man nehmen, um die min/max werte vernünftig einzustellen?

Ich nehme Trickster MOD. Das funktioniert. Der min-Wert von 1,7 GHZ viel mir auch schon öfter ins Auge, hat sich aber nach ein paar Sekunden immer normalisiert (sieht man bei Trickster auf der ersten Seite). Ausserdem kannst Du bei Trickster die "Frequenzsperre" setzen, dann kann keine App, egal Welche, die Werte einfach ändern. Min: 300 MHz Max: 2,26 GHZ, damit sind die 1,7 GHz auch Geschichte und der Prozessor taktet dann anständig auf den Min Wert runter.

Hmm, laut Trickster Mod ist minimum aber schon 300 mhz.

Ist die Frequenzsperre gesetzt? Wenn nein, dann setze sie einfach und mache Dir keine weiteren Sorgen mehr. Bei Trickster auf der ersten Seite (Informationen) kannst Du auch sehen, wie lange sich der Prozessor bei 1,7 GHz aufgehalten hat, bei mir ist das ein ganz verschwindend geringer Prozentbereich (2%), obwohl mir Trickster, dass immer als MIN-Wert anzeigt. Wird wohl ein Fehler beim Auslesen sein oder irgend ein Dienst (Facebook???) syncht da etwas im Hintergrund.

Nein, aber laut den CPU statistiken war die CPU zu 28% bei 300 mhz, 61% tiefschlaf, und rest zwischen 0-3% bei den sämtlichen restlichen frequenzen.
