Yes we are working on our interpretation of multi-windowing. It will be very different from what you know and expect.

For testing purposes we launch it via notification - apps opting in and out. The approach is clean, it's an extension to Android API, apps can be started like that by providing a simple window flag, Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_MULTI_WINDOW.

You know multi-window is hard to get right. Cornerstone failed and was buggy. Cyanogen got their asses kicked by Google for merging it. Samsung wrote a half assed implementation that works with a hand full of s-apps and breaks the rest. Its still tough and we don't assume that we can cover everything, but it's looking alright - no bad fallouts until now.

Multi window is a highly wanted feature, people pooped their pants for hardcoded mms pop-ups for christs sake. they are buying fricking Samsung plastic phones for whacky s-multiwindow.
We think these implementations suck and we want to get it right this time. If what we have in mind will pan out, minds will be blown. If not we can still do the configurable notification enhancement thing - that's cheapo plan B.

Part 2/2 will hopefully be a demo of a first plan A draft - multi windows put to good use so to say, fingers crossed."

Na ja ... ich weiß ja nicht, aber ich find das nicht wirklich *WOW* ... kann man dieses Feature deaktivieren in der Rom oder ist es standardmäßig on?

Denn mal ehrlich: wenn ich auf eine Notification drücke, dann will ich auch wirklich in die App rein - auf volle Displaygröße - und nicht einfach ein verkleinertes Pop-Up ... man beachte auch die (geringe) Ladezeit, die vergeht bis das Pop-Up erscheint.

Ist zwar wohl noch erst der Anfang, aber von Multi-Window kann man hier noch gar nicht sprechen.

Abschalten wird mans wahrscheinlich können, aber noch steht überall der Satz

dabei, also erstmal abwarten, was noch so alles kommt.

Ich finds eine grandiose Idee, wenn man gerade surft, spielt, oder sonst was macht und dann kommt eine SMS oder ein Anruf muss man uU danach wieder komplett neu anfangen, je nachdem in welcher App man grad was gemacht hat. Hier läuft die andere App einfach im Hintergrund weiter, ohne dass sie minimiert wird, oder sonst wie ihren Kontext verliert.
Ich freu mich drauf.

Sagt mal ist dass normal dass ich pie nur im expanded dedktop nutzen kann,was ergo bedeutet dass die statusleiste ausgeblendet wird. Ich will pie nutzen und die status leiste sehen.

Nein, du kannst Pie auch mit Statusleiste nutzen. Wenn du in den Hyprid Prefs -> Interface die Navbar auf 0 setzt, hast du deine Statusleiste noch und Pie

Ich glaube, dass du in den Hybrid Prefs die Farben für SystemUI ändern musst. Bin mir aber nicht mehr sicher.

ParanoidAndroid ist halt unvergleichlich mit anderen CustomROMs. Die PIE ist genial und das Einstellen eine einmalige Sache.
