Hi,

ich werde jetzt ganz bewusst etwas OT (aber irgendwie auch nicht OT) posten und ich hoffe ihr könnt es nach dem Eintrag nachvollziehen.
Hab gestern Abend einen Eintrag von CM-Team auf Facebook entdeckt und da ich das Thema hier noch nicht entdeckt habe, will ich den original Post von der CM-Facebook-Seite hier auch posten.

We normally do not put personal posts on this page, as they can be complicated matters and usually do not pertain to CyanogenMod news. That said, something is affecting us in a way it really hasn’t affected us before, and it’s hitting very close to home.

Within CyanogenMod, we have dozens of maintainers and hundreds of contributors; none of whom are paid employees. Yes, we get donations, but despite the jokes of yachts, helicopters, and private planes, it is really just enough to cover operating costs for servers and hosting. Occasionally, there is enough leftover in the team account to buy a device for a developer. What we are getting at here is that CyanogenMod is not rich.

There are, however, times where we wish that we were a full fledged company. It’d be nice if CM could pay for some full-time positions or help out team members when they are in need. Currently, we are experiencing a painful reminder of this limitation.

A member has had a pretty serious problem fall into his lap. Ryan Scott (aka ChiefzReloaded), a device maintainer, has a rare infection known as Necrotizing Fasciitis. This infection is caused by bacteria that eats skin, fat, and other tissue; it is literally a flesh-eating disease. Ryan is going through the treatments that he needs to keep him alive, but unfortunately, that treatment quickly becomes very expensive to deal with, and it is no exception for Ryan. This disease has placed an incredible strain on him and his family, including his young children. The CyanogenMod team would love to be able to hand out a fistful of cash and help out as much as possible.

Some members of our community have started a few initiates to benefit Ryan and his family. As we are unable to help out financially, we would like to lend our support for these community initiatives, and help spread the word.

Habe schon seit einiger Zeit mit CM das Problem dass immer wenn ich ADB verwenden möchte, "device offline" angezeigt wird. Die Sicherheitsbestätigung die mit 4.2.2 eingeführt wurde (?) erscheint auch nicht oder nur an anderen PC's aber selbst dann nicht immer.

Device an und ausstecken und Display dabei anlassen.. Weil wenn das gesperrt ist, erscheinen auch keine Fragen ob das Handy ADB erlauben soll oder nicht..

Kurze Frage, ist Linaro denn jetzt eingebaut in Cyanogenmod? Ich weis nur das es bei XylonROM eingebaut ist aber die meisten ROMs bauen ja auf CM auf oder nicht?

Nein, der CM-Kernel ist nicht mit dem Linaro Toolchain kompiliert.

Das wird es in den offiziellen Builds wohl nie geben.

Um dem mal ein Ende zu machen hättet ihr hier einen XDA-User der seine Nightlys mit der Linaro Toolchain kompiliert. Ich hab Linaro-Builds auf meinem Nexus 7 laufen aber einen Unterschied in Leistung und Akkuverbrauch kann ich nicht feststellen.

Kann schon sein, aber irgendwas muss da ja dran sein.
Wenn ich mit Stock Firmware bei AnTuTu auf 16000-17000 komme und mit Xylon + Linaro Toolchain Base auf über 21000.
Hat das doch ganz klar eine auswirkung auf die Geschwindigkeit oder nicht?

Das sind ganz klar vorallem die Krait (Bionic) Patches die so viel ausmachen. Linaro hat bei uns kaum Mehrwert.

Benchmarks sind Schall und Rauch. Sie sind zu nichtsaussagend da sie nichts objektiv "messen". Ich nutze sie nur um einen Anhaltspunkt zu bilden.

Na ja, die Software zaubert ja nicht. Ist nicht mal wie Chip Tuning, denn die angeblich zusätzliche Leistung bringt man kaum auf die Straße (Alltag) ist aber oft zu Ungunsten des Akkus. Aber freu dich...

Ja sind sie und auf > 20k bei Antutu komm ich auch mit CM! Also dafür ist kein Linaro notwendig.

Hast du wenigsten Cache und Dalvik Cache gewiped? Das sollte man auch vom Wechsel von einer Nightly zur anderen machen.

Ja, habe ich trotzdessen gemacht. Aber wenn keiner sonst ne Idee hat, dann mache ich eben nen fullwipe und flashe den ganzen Spaß nochmal. Ich hab ja Zeit......NICHT!

Ich hatte bei der Monthly irgendwie das Problm dass meine Sensoren alle(!) nicht mehr gingen,also Näherungssensor, Lagesensor etc. pp. An was kann das liegen? Jetzt ist Paranoid Android drauf jetzt läufts, dachte schon das ist ein Hardwaredefekt.
