der chaos-kernel ist speziell für custom roms mit cyanogenmod 11 als basis ausgelegt und ist damit der erste custom kernel, der cm11 nativ unterstützt. Er läuft aber auch auf allen anderen Custom Roms problemlos. Schwerpeunkte werden beim chaos kernel auf stabilität und funktionsfielfalt gelegt. NXTweaks App Info ::
Beim Flashen des Kernels wird automatisch eine kleine App installiert, mit der man verschiedene Einstellungen am Kernel vornehmen kann. Die App wurde vom Chaos Kernel-Entwickler selbst geschrieben und beinhaltet folgende Features (Übersetzung vom XDA-Beitrag):
- Die NXTweaks app wurde auf Basis der STweaks Quellcodes entwickelt, um die Funktionen des Kernels zu kontrollieren.
- Wenn ein weiterer Kernel geflasht wird, werden die NXTweaks Einstellungen überschrieben und somit gelöscht (auch wenn ein Update des Chaos Kernels erfolgt). Dies geschieht bewusst, um Abstürze und Fehler zu vermeiden.
