Bajee zu der Version 4.0 auf der RootBox Homepage:
After 2 months of nightlies, I finally decided that it was time for a stable release for this rom. RootBox sources are pretty stable, so this release should be solid enough for a while. You will realize that there are a lot of changes in this build compared to V3.9.1 since its been 2 months and since then I have merged an important amount of features and fixes. A full wipe will not be required for this release but it is highly recommended to do so if you encounter any issues. I already know that some of you guys will ask if HALO from Paranoid Android is included in this: Well the answer is no. The PA team did not release the sources for HALO yet, so it wont be merged to RootBox until they make it available to everyone.
As you guys already know, RootBox has many members for support and device testers but the project itself is only managed by me. Ever since my main buildbox was shutdown, Ive been looking for a suitable buildbox in order to build Nightlies and Stable releases. I currently use XDAs build servers, which is limited to 100GB per user and performance shared among the users building on that server. Some of these builds can even take up to 60-75 mins depending on the server load. Since RootBox currently supports 18 devices, this can prove to be difficult for me when I decide to build for you guys. So I am planning to acquire a buildbox with some good specs and substantially decrease build time. I kept almost 99% of the donations I received for RootBox, but it wont be enough to even last a few months. I will try my best to pitch in from my own pockets for this but if you feel like donating as well, you can do so by clicking on the link below this post or on the top right of this page. You guys already know Im not a big fan of donations anyways, as this is simply a hobby and I dont need any monetary compensation for doing something I like.
Finally, if you guys encounter any issues with this build, please use the proper channels & logs so I can solve the issues ASAP. Some users will complain about anything without even trying to go through the forums and using the search function. By posting unnecessary questions (those that can be answered by doing a simple search on XDA/Google), all youre doing is slowing down everyone and especially me, since I have to take my time to read these posts while I could of been reading useful ones. Use the support thread instead of development threads unless its a confirmed bug, that will save me a lot of time and effort and I will be able to fix things faster.
Thanks,
Bajee
