LG Optimus G2: Pressemitteilung bestätigt Snapdragon 800

Das LG Optimus G2 ist für seine Fans schon jetzt ein Kultobjekt. Auch wenn es sich bisher nur in Leaks gezeigt hat, so ist es doch der aufgehende Stern für viele LG-Jünger und könnte sicherlich auch so manchen Fan einer anderen Marke für sich begeistern, grade da sich ein bisher nur schwammig vorhandenes Gerücht nun zu bewahrheiten scheint: In einer Pressemitteilung von LG Electronics ist von einer erweiterten und erneuerten Partnerschaft mit Qualcomm zu lesen, welche mit ihrem Snapdragon 800 die SoC-Sensation des Jahres geliefert haben. Der Prozessor schlägt jedwede andere Smartphone-CPU auf dem Markt und verbessert die Rechenleistung des Snapdragon S4 Pro (2012 der beste SoC) um bis zu 75 Prozent. LG verkündet stolz, dass das nächste Smartphone der Optimus G-Serie einen Snapdragon 800 enthalten wird. Der Launch dieses neuen Smartphones wird für das dritte Quartal diesen Jahres erwartet und wird "the ultimate mobile experience" darstellen - wenn man LG glauben darf. Weiterhin spricht das Unternehmen von seiner Arbeit mit LTE-Advanced, was jedoch in unseren Breitengraden derzeit noch weniger Bedeutung hat. (LG), Qualcomm Incorporated, and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., today announced that the successor to the award-winning LG Optimus will utilize Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 800 processor, the industry's most advanced mobile chipset. Qualcomm Snapdragon is a product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
LG's G series device powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processors will redefine the smartphone experience through stunning performance, rich graphics and outstanding battery efficiency. Capable of carrier aggregation, the Snapdragon 800 processor is designed to allow LTE to be even faster by maximizing spectrum bandwidth to increase data speeds and reduce latency.

Delivering up to 75 percent better performance than the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, the Snapdragon 800 processor will feature many of the industry's leading technologies for the ultimate mobile experience, including:
• Higher speeds with Krait 400 CPUs in quad configuration to deliver greater processing and communication performance;
• Enhanced aSMP (asynchronous Symmetric Multiprocessing) architecture for dynamic power sensing and control for peak performance per core and improved battery life without the use of specialized cores;
• Fully integrated connectivity with a wide variety of communication options including 4G LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation;
